Josephine’s Tea Rooms & Gifts Shops opened in 1979 in Godfrey, Illinois. We are located four miles North of Alton, a historic river town on the bluffs of the Mississippi River, and a 30 minute drive from downtown St. Louis, Missouri.

The gift shops are in the original house which once was part of Monticello College that was founded in 1838. The shops feature unique home decor, gifts, florals and accessories.

The tea rooms were added in 1986. There are three dining rooms plus the outdoor patios. Lunch is served 6 days a week.

Josephine’s Monticello House was added as an addition next door. It features women’s fashions, shoes, handbags, jewelry and accessories.

The newest addition is Fred’s Shed. It features sales, close outs and mark downs.
